Importance of Windshield Repair

Most vehicle chips and cracks can be repaired. Some of the things to consider are size, depth, and the location of the damage. When you choose Hopkins Auto Glass, our technicians will inspect the damage and determine if it can be repaired or requires replacement. Certified Repair Using OEM Materials

Not all glass is created equally. Vehicle makers have many different recommendations on what materials and glass to use for safe and quality repairs and replacement of broken windows and windshields. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) glass is fashioned according to the auto manufacturer’s exact specifications. Hopkins Auto Body exclusively uses OEM auto glass for all auto glass replacements.

Our Auto Glass Repair Process

When you come to Hopkins Auto Glass with a chip or crack, the damage is assessed and it’s then determined whether it can be repaired or needs replacement. If your auto glass is repairable, the chip or crack is cleaned and filled with an optically matching resin. Once the resin is cured using UV light, any excess resin is removed and the glass is polished to smooth it out. This technique prevents the damage from further spreading and improves the appearance of your windshield.
